Happy New Year

Not an original title I grant you but the sincerity is real.

I have read a number of posts on Twitter and Facebook wondering what resolutions people are making. Resolutions have always baffled me somewhat. I find it strange that just because the number on the end of the year has changed that people have to decide to change something about their lives too. Why not do it on Christmas Day or your birthday. I think it is an arbitrary day where hungover people can make excuses for past behaviours.

“What a cynic” I hear you cry. You may be right but I very rarely, if ever hear of a positive resolution. i.e. I am going to keep doing…… rather than I am going to stop doing…….

So here is mine. This year I am going to resolve to keep making no resolutions whatsoever. It’s one I’ve stuck to every year so far.

Origins of Christmas

Hey there,

Well Christmas is nearly upon us and so I thought I’d pen a quick blog to say wish festive cheer to all my followers.

I have recently found a great new website called Listverse which as the name suggests contains lists of various things, some remarkably interesting. A worrying article

I just came across this article from the Huffington Post.

I know that over the years my children have read less despite encouragement from me and their dad. I do think that TV, and video games etc are partly to blame but I also think that society places less importance on reading as a whole.

Hello everybody.  I am Julie. I am a published author of horror stories with Static Movement, Wicked East Press, Undead Press. I am currently working on my first novel (which I should actually be doing right now, but hey I need to say hi!), which is a YA urban fantasy novel.
